Job Summary

AECOM has an exciting opportunity in Afghanistan on the Afghanistan - EAGLE contract for a Operator - Heavy Equipment -Crane. Operates Mobile and RT Cranes in excess of 22.5 Tons and up to 120 Tons. Ensure that operator level maintenance on assigned crane and rigging components are performed. Direct crane riggers in the areas of operation but not limited to rigging hardware inspection, selection, and configuration. Responsible for updating and submission of daily lift report and inspection checklist. Works in tandem with other team members in support of the overall mission. Ensure strict compliance to safety practices and support the AC FIRST Safety Policies and Procedures. Instills a safety first mentality within respective work areas and a culture that achieves low accident rates and minimal lost-time injuries. Adhere to ISO Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions in support of the AC FIRST Quality Management System. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

  • 1-3 years of crane operating experience required.

  • 1-3 years’ experience and or training on RTCH and forklifts required

  • NACI/Tier 1 for US Citizens and PCC for Non US Citizens

  • NCCCO certification (US), country of origin or AC FIRST approved equivalent, is required.

  • Must have valid drivers’ and crane license.

  • Must be able to obtain a DA Form 5984-E Army Standard License upon arrival.

  • Must have the ability to perform site surveys, job hazard analysis, and lift planning calculations.

  • May serve as lift director, rigger, or signal person during lifting operations.

  • Must be licensed on all pieces of MHE / RTCH and all Heavy Equipment below Crane.

  • Must be able to carry out the safe rigging configuration of equipment and materials to be lifted.

  • Must be able to set up the crane, which requires agility and the physical strength to lift heavy pads.

  • Determines safe lifting capacities for the crane and operates cranes within the load chart and manufacture guidelines.

  • Must pass written and practical qualification exams for crane, and other equipment prior to licensing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
