HCA, Hospital Corporation of America Registered Nurse (RN) Post Partum Weekends in Austin, Texas
Department Description: 3East is a 63-bed unit. This unit sees high risk and low risk ante partum, post partum, as well as GYN surgical care (cesarean sections, tubal ligation, emergency hysterectomy, dilation and curettage, post anesthesia and post partum high risk care).
Position Descripition:* Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor Nursing Unit, and according to hospital policies and procedures, the Registered Nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for assigned patients.
_Knowledge & Skills:__ _ Must be able to demonstrate understanding of HCA's and St. David's "Patients First" safety initiative by strict compliance to all safety protocols and procedures. Works autonomously, sets priorities and makes independent decisions of a complex nature. Interfaces directly with public, physicians, staff, patients, administration, and ancillary/support department representatives. Written and verbal communication skills adequate for performance of the position. Maintains confidentiality of patient's medical records. Regular and predictable attendance is required. Required:* Graduation from an NLN school of professional nursing. Preferred: Completion of or actively pursuing a BSN degree. Prior post partum nursing experience; computer skills
_Experience:_ Preferred: Experience as a staff nurse in an acute care setting.
_Credentials:_ Required: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Texas. BLS and ACLS Certification; NRP provider within 6 months of hire. Preferred: Certification in area of specialty.
