General Description

Responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating department operations. Duties include formulating policies and procedures, managing daily operations, and planning the use of materials and human resources.

Specific Job Duties:


  • Judgment and Decision Making: Considers the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate solution

  • Problem Solving: Identifies complex problems and reviews related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions

  • Time Management: EPlans, schedules and prioritizes time and activities to accomplish goals and meet deadlines

  • Coordination: Gets members of a group to work together to accomplish tasks

  • Teamwork and Communication: Works well in a team environment and effectively communicates throughout the department and organization

Necessary Skills / Attributes

  • Verify compliance to execution of tasks (PM, BM, interlock release, error recovery, etc).

  • Uphold company policy and ground rules.

  • Manage on-shift escalations.

  • Maintain shift KPI and identify/implement actions for improvement.

  • Provide training, mentoring, performance improvement and career development to personnel on shift.

  • Coordinate activities/communication between Engineers and Technicians.

  • Ensure that documentation is properly updated and clear (SOPs, Certifications, PTPs, etc).

  • Drive continuous improvement activities on shift.

  • Manages, mentors, and trains staff

  • Prepares work schedules and assigns specific duties

  • Establishes and implements team or departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures, conferring with appropriate parties.

  • Determines staffing requirements in conjunction with Human Resources and participates in recruiting processes such as phone screening and interviewing

  • Adapts to and implements change: Accepts that change is inevitable and embraces change with innovation, courage, and resiliency.

  • Promotes key values: Consistently demonstrates work ethics and values. Conducts duties of the position with truth, sincerity and fairness. Strong adherence to ground rules.

  • 2 year college degree or technical school certification preferred

  • In addition, typically requires 10 years of related experience
