The Honeywell User Experience (HUE) Design Group delivers an end-to-end user experience across every user touch point for our HBT businesses. We use well established human-centered design principles to ensure that Honeywell products and applications are the most useful, usable, and desirable products in the marketplace. We are seeking an ambitious Digital Product Designer to create the next generation of user experiences on a wide variety of Connected Home and Building software, applications, and data services solutions.

This position will be located at the HUE Design Studio in Austin, Texas. We're looking for someone who is driven, passionate about our mission, and wants to dive in and get their hands dirty.

In this position you will work closely with our global research and development engineering teams to understand how technology opportunities can solve real customer needs in future products. We are a team with a passion for finding solutions that push the boundaries of technology feasibility, market opportunity, and user need. The ideal candidate will be well versed in UX practices for generative and evaluative product research. This position will require somebody comfortable with challenging assumptions and willing to help steer the team towards a winning definition and project brief for new product offerings.

Responsibilities - Experience in user testing and design research including qualitative and quantitative research, observational research, usability testing, competitive analysis, heuristic evaluation, and writing and executing research protocols - Conceptualization and development of ideas for features and new offerings - Participate in creative concept processes and contribute to the creation, and prioritization of product requirements - Clear understanding about how software, embedded UI, and hardware integrate and how the experience should reflect this interaction - Conceptualization of user experience and interaction design utilizing wire framing, and rapid prototyping. Iterate design based on insights and leverage data in a way that informs your design decisions - Work on products and features for native mobile applications and device UIs, in close collaboration with other Product Designers, Software Engineers, and business stakeholders - Create trend aware experiences that accomplish the goals of the end user in a clear and understandable way, making the complex simple - Stay abreast of and have a passion for customer experience and interaction design trends - Provide subject-matter expertise perspective and direction on new interactive technologies innovations as they apply to creating user experiences

Basic Qualifications: - Portfolio of relevant work for review is required - Bachelor’s degree - 5 years of experience in digital product design, interaction design, user experience design, information architecture, software OR product design for software, web applications and mobile applications in a collaborative Agile development environment - 5 years of working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign or Sketch

Preferred Qualifications: - Experience and expertise in creating fully responsive digital design solutions - Strong conceptualization ability - Strong visual communication and presentation ability - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Strong understanding of the fundamentals of user experience and cross-platform compatibility - Command of information architecture, interface design, and usability/testing principles - Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, careful attention to detail, as well as ability to grasp multiple product requirements - Strong working knowledge of HTML, CSS and other presentation layer technologies - Exceptional interaction design skills and attention to detail. Ability to create low fidelity sketches and wireframes and hi-fidelity interactive prototypes for user testing - Experience working with cross functional teams in a collaborative AGILE software development environment
