Conducts quality checks.Verifiespatient information by interviewing patient; reviewing and/or recordingmedical history; taking vital signs; confirming purpose of visit ortreatment. Reports areas of concern to next care provider. Supports patientcare delivery by assisting health care providers during examinations;preparing laboratory specimens; performing basic testing; disposing ofcontaminated supplies; cleaning or preparing for sterilization of medicalinstruments; administering medications per policy and procedures;telephoning prescriptions to pharmacies and other duties within scope. Assistsin balancing workloads, coordinates and maintains clinic flow bycoordinating with providers, and monitoring patient flow.Providesphlebotomy.Completes lab test follow up and medical recorddocumentation.Prepares and completes medical record for visit by recordingpatient information, treatment, and test results. Assists with patient"MyChart" enrollment.Participates in the standardized education ofpatients through written instructions and answering questions as directed byprovider.Independently initiates referrals and insurancepre-authorizations.Provides general office support including phone and faxmanagement.Serves as the preceptor for new staff, including orientation,education, skill validation, tracking, assessment and monitoringprogress.Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment byfollowing, and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with legalregulations.
