Position Description: Functions in a leadership role, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team as a direct care provider and clinical expert. Develops and implements practice guidelines, participates as active and integral member of clinical pathway team, and maintains the established standards of care and practice through staff development, clinical improvement activities, and patient/staff education.

Patient Care Administration – Clinician

Primary responsibilities include:
  • Provides ongoing campus facilitation in the design and implementation of clinical systems.

  • Facilitates Change/Management related to clinical systems integration.

  • Develops and provides staff education related to process and workflow changes related to systems integration and nursing practice.

  • Provides campus specific Clinical Systems Superuser oversight.

  • Coordinates campus specific downtime and provides support.

  • Manages unit specific clinical systems competency program; determines competency needs and continually evaluates staff on clinical systems performance.

  • Ensures/Facilitates current documentation of clinical systems competency requirements for staff.

  • Formulates unit-based clinical systems QI measurement indicators.

  • Continually evaluates clinical systems QI results and implements and monitors improvement changes as necessary

  • Participates in planning, implementing and evaluating clinical systems programs/products/systems

  • Serves as a resource for clinical systems programs/products/systems

  • Serves as a resource for Ancillary Departments related to clinical systems

  • Responsible for ensuring and documenting the sustained clinical systems proficiency of staff

  • Assist with first line troubleshooting and support of Patient Care Clinical Systems.

  • Facilitates documentation of regulatory requirements.

  • Participates in integrated testing process and provides feedback to Patient Care Systems

Position Requirements: Required: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Three (3) years’ experience in clinical area, OR Bachelor’s in Nursing with Two (2) years experience in clinical area National certification required in specialty area, OR Must obtain certification within 12 months of assuming role, if not certified. Current BLS Card (CPR). Preferred: B.S. degree in NursingPosition is primarily Monday- Friday business hours , traveling to campuses for RN Informatics education as needed. Must be flexible with hours and travel to sites based on needs of department.
