Job Responsibilities

In this role you will work individually within a group of other Software and Network engineers developing leading edge satellite communications antennas. You will produce concepts and perform design, architecture, analysis, modeling, and testing networking services used in the components of our systems, with emphasis on setting up networking services, firewalls, and router setup for accessing our systems remotely. You will take designs from the conceptual drawing board into the implementation of network architecture and services.  If you have the flexibility to perform in a dynamic work environment and have a strong personal ownership of your work you will do well in this role.

Requirements

  • 8 (+) years experience operating and maintaining a Service Provider Network utilizing a Juniper infrastructure.

  • Strong understanding of Broadband Networks and best practices using MPLS, IS-IS, IPV6, and BGP protocols as well as L2/L3 VPN's.

  • Intermediate experience with Linux/Unix systems with an understanding of system level security best practices.

  • Experience with Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV)

  • Knowledge of basic OS features like Multi-threading, synchronization and memory management on Linux or Linux-like Operating systems

  • Understanding of routing, switching and basic network communication protocols

  • Familiarity with cloud services – IaaS, PaaS

  • Possess a DevOps mindset

  • BSEE/BSCS or technical Bachelor’s degree

  • After hours on call field support for some programs

  • US citizenship required

Preferences

  • JNCIP Certification or industry Equivalent.

  • Experience with Junos/IOS/EOS and their associated platforms.

  • Experience with automation frameworks and scripting such as Python and Ansible.

  • Experience with Fortinet FortiOS Firewalls and Fortimanager, but not must

  • Experience with virtualization technologies (VMWARE, OpenStack, KVM).

  • Strong understanding of security best practices, designs, policies, and procedures

  • Ability to transition between multiple environments and platforms with ease.
