Service Area Overview:

Serves as a clinical resource and consultant to the nursing staff in developing and implementing nursing care plans for patients with specific disorders of the gastrointestinal, genitourinary and integumentary systems in an acute facility. These include ostomies, fistula tubes dermal wounds and incontinence. Assist in maintaining an established standard of care through staff development, patient education and serving as a role model by providing expert clinical care. Works with neonates, adolescents, adult and geriatric patients.

Position Description: The WOC Nurse Specialist will be responsible for providing wound and ostomy care to adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. The WOC nurse specialist at NSH will enjoy a manageable inpatient caseload with additional responsibility of outpatient ostomy care.

Position Requirements: BSN Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Two years of WOC nursing experience. WOCN program and pending certification.

Licensure/Certification Requirements: Yes

Work Hours: 8a-4:30p

Weekend Requirements: No

On-Call Requirements: Yes
