TS SBG Atlanta Automotive Software Site Leader
Position Summary The HAS team is looking for a star performer to help accelerate the growth of the division by building an engineering team focused on customer success and adoption. We need a catalyst who is a self-starter and thrives in a complex and fast moving environment with excellent listening and coaching skills along with strong commitment and business judgment.
This role will be responsible to translate customers requirements into product features, prioritize their implementation and ensure high quality product conformity, in-time and in-budget delivery, in order to create the best-in-class software portfolio that responds to market evolving requests and accelerate time-to-value with the customer’s adoption and retention.
The TS SBG Atlanta Software Site leader will directly report to VP/GM of HAS and will be part of the HAS leadership team, being therefore directly involved in all decisions relative to product portfolio and investment. He/She has a shared responsibility with the rest of the leadership team for meeting business objectives and execute of our growth strategies. In this regard the TS SBG Atlanta Software Site Leader will collaborate with the other HAS business leaders and engineering managers to prioritize and deliver the appropriate software offerings for customer adoption. He/She will be directly responsible of the holistic processes of the software product development during its entire life cycle.
Primary responsibilities *
•Product planning and Management:Define and lead a comprehensive strategic prioritization planning process involving all functions while focusing on regular and timely delivery of value; facilitate an agile development environment to identify critical issues, and define work streams to develop effective strategic responses, organize and lead status and working meetings, manage risk, issues and deviations from plans
•Team management:Assist in team development, promote empowerment of teams while holding them accountable for their commitments, removing roadblocks to their work; leveraging organizational resources to improve capacity for project work and mentoring and developing team members.
•Product Owner Support:support Product Owners and Customer Management teams in managing customer expectations for product deliveries, managing internal and external shareholders expectation and helping to implement an effective system for product delivery and projects governance
•Process Management and Improvement:Define and manage a well-defined product and customer focused project management processes and champion ongoing corporate process improvement initiatives to implement best practices for Agile Project Management
•Other management and leadership responsibilities:
•Single Point of Contact for all TS and Cross-SBG activities in Atlanta Software Center •Manage the TS Software Development Dashboard and TS Monthly Financial Reporting for Atlanta Center •Support monthly HAS GOLD Week presentation with input from all involved parties •Support the HAS General Manager and TS Leadership teams to prepare effective communications to Honeywell’s Investor community •Support the Honeywell Government Relations teams to represent HAS’s position on global government legislation •Partner with the Marketing Communications teams to develop effective press releases, trade shows and industry communications •Partner with Human Resources and internal communications teams to share HAS’s business situation and plans across the employee population •Help business units identify and implement software growth opportunities across a wide array of areas – from sales to product development •Build playbooks and toolkits that will be used to syndicate best practices and training across Agile development
You Must Have •BA/BS or Engineering degree preferable in Computer Science or equivalent
We Value •More than 5 year’s experience as Software Engineering Manager or Software Product Manager •2 years’ experience with SCRUM/Agile methodologies with enterprise-level application development projects •2 years’ experience in Automotive Software Industry, understanding of automotive OEM economic drivers and decision making •Field application engineering or technical sales experience is a plus •Solid understanding of software development life cycle models as well as expert knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices and the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment •Experience in Software Marketing, Software Development, Agile Processes •Proven track record of working effectively in a matrix organization across cultural boundaries •Personal presence, communications skills and credibility necessary to effectively interact with and influence senior management. •Ability to work independently and aggressively drive key initiatives •Strong problem solver, synthesizer, analytical skills, combining 'Big Picture' thinking and attention to detail •Strong visual and verbal communication skills •Strong product management fundamentals across the full software product life-cycle •Masters Degree or PhD is a plus.
