Position Description:

This role is part of our STEP (Sales Training and Excellence) Program. Provide CRHF (Cardiac Rhythm Heart Failure) service and sales support. CRHF seeks candidates who will meet our customer expectations by striving without reserve for the greatest possible reliability and quality in our products, processes and systems by being accountable, having a voice, and taking action.

Main jobduties/responsibilities:

  1. Technical Support:
  • Completeclinical/technical training

  • RepresentsMedtronic during surgeries and implants of products to providetroubleshooting and other technical assistance.

  • Providestechnical support with device reprogramming, follow-ups andtrouble-shooting in hospitals and clinics.

  • Provideson call support as needed for surgeries, device reprogramming,troubleshooting, follow-up enrollments, etc. on evenings and weekends.

  1. Educational Support:
  • Educatesphysicians and allied healthcare professionals on technical mattersrelating to our products and therapies

  • Providestraining and resources for allied healthcare professionals to enable themto conduct training for their personnel ("train the trainer").

  1. Sales Support:
  • Completessales training process

  • During/followingcases:

  • Completesnecessary documentation (e.g., implant registration,,mStar) and phone calls (customer service).

  • Updatessales representatives concerning cases. Immediately notifiesrepresentatives regarding issues or problems requiring follow-up.

  • Servesas effective Medtronic representative to physicians and support staffregarding Medtronic products, service and support.

  • Managesinventories (consignment, trunk and district office, loaner products) andprovides support with rotation and delivery to optimize customer serviceand efficiency.

  • PromotesCarelink enrollments at time of implants.

  • Requestsand obtains purchase orders after implants per district guidelines.

  • Conductsregular unsolicited calls to hospitals or clinics.

  • Maintainscurrent knowledge regarding Medtronic therapies, programs, products, servicesand competitive products.

  • Maintainsopen, effective communication with all Medtronic personnel and customers.

  1. Sales responsibilities for specified accounts per DM assignment

  2. Performs other related duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’sdegree

  • 0-3years of sales experience


  • B.A./B.S.Degree in nursing, cardiovascular, life sciences, engineering or technicaldiscipline

  • Workexperience in technical field, engineering, hospital/clinic or sales

  • Proventrack record with technical or sales assignments

  • Abilityto work with many different customers from varying backgrounds.


  • Frequent2-handed lifting of up to 40 lbs. from floor to chair/table and from oneto another surface at approximately the same level Sit/stand/walk 6-8hours a day

  • Abilityto conduct company business outside of typical Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00 pm; work schedule preferred

  • Abilityto wear 7-9 lbs of lead for extended periods of time while in the EP Lab,Cath Lab or operating room

  • Requiredto be within their assigned territory each day to be available as scheduledand unscheduled needs arise. Periodically required to work weekends,evenings and nights

  • Maybe required to serve as a primary resource for scheduled and on-callassignments and as a back up to sales representatives during unassignedweekends, evenings and nights

  • Must have a validdriver's license and active vehicle insurance policy. In addition,your driving record will be reviewed and will be considered as part ofyour application.

  • Abilityto travel extensively by car and/or plane (minimum 50% - subject to changebased on coverage needs

Environmental Exposures:

  • Infectiousdisease; radiation; blood borne pathogens

  • Mustbe able to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE)

  • Abilityto work in Cath Labs

  • Requiredto meet all hospital credentialing requirements
