The role of a Systems Administrator (Principal) is a multi-faceted role serving as functional manager, lead System Administrator, and on-site final escalation point for all operational issues in the DTE Phase II solution. The position will supportdata centerand private cloud system that will scale to global locations.

Specific Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as managerial & technical representative for Internal and External Coordination of the day-to-day operations

  • Collaborates with the O&S Manager to set expectations and measure performance via SLAs/OLAs and other agreements

  • Advises management on situations that may require additional support or escalation including managing the process for internal/external communications for critical incidents and emergency activities

  • Manages vendor relationships as it depends on daily operational needs. Review survey feedback to improve services, tools and support experience

  • Optimizes performance and availability standards through implementing appropriate technical solutions through continual service improvement

  • Provides Technical Leadership and mentoring of subordinate personnel; directing duties performed and provides On the Job training to staff, as needed

  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures including DoD STIG requirements

  • Develop and maintain operational, configuration, or other procedural documentation

  • Installs, maintains, and troubleshoots complex high availability systems

  • Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning

  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Occasional travel to Northern Virginia

Minimum Education And Experience

Bachelor's Degree and 12 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills And Education

Bachelor's Degree and 10 years work experience, or equivalent experience, to include the following areas:

  • Hyper-V SCVMM (2012 preferred)

  • Microsoft Server (2012 R2 preferred)

  • Microsoft DHCP/DNS Server

  • Active Directory

  • SQL Database (2014 preferred)

  • PowerShell Scripting

Strong analytical skills as well as proficiency at troubleshooting heterogeneous computing environments

Candidate must be an effective communicator with an independent, self-starting attitude

Experience with Virtualization and or Cloud technologies (VmWare ESXi, Hyper-V, Azure, etc)

Ability to make decisions with minimal guidance
