JobDescription: This position is located in Stephenville, TX.

Directs maintenance crew and provides mechanical assistance to all buildings within the university campus properties. Repairs, maintains and assists in any problem solving issues of the mechanical, plumbing, or electrical systems for the university. Supervises and manages the performance of the employees and also manages the client’s expectations.


  • Responsible for the operation and maintenance of all campus mechanical, electrical, and plumbing repairs.

  • Includes responsibility for scheduling and directing all routine and emergency repairs, plus preventive maintenance for associated equipment.

  • Provides lighting by maintaining electrical lighting fixtures and all outlets.

  • Provides support by responding to requests for mechanical, plumbing and electrical problems.

  • Complies with electrical and building codes by adhering to requirements; advising management on needed actions.

  • Maintains supplies inventory by checking material stock to determine inventory levels; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for material; reviewing and approving invoices.

  • Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.

  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

  • Enhances facilities services and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

  • Maintain clean and safe work environment; performs job safely.

  • Maintains maintenance staff schedules and responsibilities.

  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Minimum high school diploma or GED required, supplemented with technical school training or equivalent work experience.

  • College degree preferred.

  • Master/Journeyman trade license.

  • Certifications in any of the following are highly preferred: electrical or plumbing.

  • Ability to meet deadlines and make sound decisions in stressful situations.

  • Strong customer service skills required.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form.

  • Creative problem solving skills.

  • Must be able to troubleshoot/fix various problems or issues.

  • Must be mechanically inclined/tech savvy.

  • Must have clean driving record & a valid Non-CDL Class C Driver’s License.
