11 West is a 32 bed unit that is part of the Michigan Congenital Heart Center, including a 6 bed moderate care area for patients requiring closer monitoring and observation. We provide family centered care to pediatric cardiology and cardiac surgery patients ranging in age from newborn to young adult.

Salary & Nursing Framework Level:
This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C (INC B).
Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.
Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level E.
Required qualifications must be met by the candidate in order to be interviewed and considered for the position. Posting may be filled after the initial 5-day posting period. Applicants who have left the UMPNC bargaining unit must include on their resume dates of past employment including months and years of service along with effort. Positions less than 20 hours/week may be combined.

Condition of hire for Graduate Nurses: Selected GN must successfully pass N-CLEX and be licensed as an RN in the state of Michigan no later than 45 days from date of hire.
Current Registered Nurse license to practice nursing in the state of Michigan.
Demonstrated excellent communication skills.
Demonstrated excellent problem solving skills.
Commitment to collaborative practice as well as ongoing professional development.
**Graduate Nurse applicants will be considered.

One to two years of pediatric nursing experience.
One to two years of experience in a pediatric congenital heart program.
Hours: 36 hours
Shift: Nights; 8-hour shifts; Monday through Friday and alternating weekends.

All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.
