The LSA Web Services Team is a fun, dynamic team that supports a large number of websites in the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA). Our team is looking for an Instructional Designer/Trainer to train our web editors how to use our web based site editing software, Adobe Experience Manager (AEM). The person in this position will also be the lead for Open Lab sessions where users can sign up or drop in for assistance. Additionally, this position is point on fielding web help desk tickets.
Conduct AEM Training courses at least once per week.
Conduct two Open Lab courses per week.
Keep course and lab offerings current on our website and create new training courses to keep our users up-to-date on new functionality and software enhancements.
Create and design training materials for new courses; edit and redesign existing courses when necessary.
Conduct surveys to gain feedback on the user experience for training and open labs. Based on survey data, make adjustments to improve programs and increase user satisfaction.
Be the point person for the Web Team’s help desk tickets submitted online and either solve the issue or route to the appropriate people on the team for resolution.
Continue to grow training and instructional design skills through professional development and training opportunities provided by the team and university.
Schedule rooms for training, if necessary.
This position reports to the Manager, LSA Web Services.
A bachelor's degree or equivalent.
At least three years of experience in adult education and instructional design, preferably focused on application training.
Experience training users with varying strengths. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong written and analytical skills.
Comfortable working with web sites and using web publishing software.
Professional, positive, reliable, and self-driven.
Certification in Instructional Design.
Experience working with a web content management system, in particular Adobe Experience Manager.
Experience with WordPress.
Experience with help desk and/or ticketing software.
