Position Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

As an industry leader in mortgage technology, the PCLender LOS and Web Products QA Manager will work in an environment full of high achieving individuals. This role must be passionate, creative and collaborative in ensuring our products are deployed to customers with a high degree of quality and are free from defects and effectively support mortgage banking best practices.

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for developing, managing and coordinating a comprehensive Quality Program, including, but not limited to, developing processes, procedures, job aides, Quality frameworks, and Human Resource related duties such as, employee recruitment, training, development, and utilization.

The QA Manager is also responsible for oversight of the Quality deliverables of external development partners.

_Essential Responsibilities and Duties:_

  • Works with Analysts, Software Engineers, Project Managers, Developers and Management to ensure adequate and appropriate testing of delivered solutions.

  • Participates in project planning via managing supply and demand of QA & Testing resources (internal and external) and estimates.

  • Manages Quality Control (QC) of projects through all phases of software development lifecycle (SDLC).

  • Ensures processes are in place and procedures followed to facilitate an effective handoff from project team to support team.

  • Develops a Root Cause Analysis (RCA) framework to evaluate System, User Acceptance, and Production defects to drive continuous improvement in project execution.

  • Manages software testing efforts of multiple programs and projects.

  • Reports testing progress, schedules, results, and relevant information to Project Manager(s) and Management.

  • Manages development and execution of functional, regression, and performance tests.

  • Hires and trains testing resources and provides leadership on how to effectively test software.

  • Manages coordination between human resources and department.

  • Develops systems and processes to ensure business, project, and employee needs are fulfilled; assigns and supervises employees to QA projects.

  • Develops and manages employee skills assessment process; forecasts skill and employee needs based on project plans.

  • Develops and manages employee utilization procedures; ensures appropriate distribution of work responsibilities within department.

  • Coordinates with Development Leadership regarding forecasting of employee needs and skills, ensuring proper recruitment and training and development; improves employee selection and coordination of resources.

  • Aligns training and development to department goals and objectives; serves as mentor and champion of training and career development processes.

  • Communicates with project managers and employees to ensure needs are being achieved.

  • Ensures performance appraisals occur upon completion of projects and employee skills are updated.

  • Coordinates and assimilates performance appraisal information across projects and systems, resulting in cohesive annual appraisal of staff.

  • Provide hands-on QA and testing for PCLender’s Loan Origination Software (LOS) and Web products to ensure technical and business objectives are met.

  • Work closely with Support and Business Analyst (BA) team members to validate defects are documented and corrected.

  • Document defects and track issues in a thoughtful and proactive manner

  • Accurately document and or supervise new feature testing cases and plan requirements to ensure they have clear and appropriate expectations with schedules that ensure release deadlines and commitments are met.

  • Supervise Case owners to ensure their testing and QA responsibilities are met including providing guidance and training to other PCLender testing/QA resources.

  • Manage final QA of patch and new release functionality/cases.

  • Under minimal leadership, uncover opportunities for process improvement, applying best practices and challenging business operations when appropriate for product testing practices.

  • Communicate process recommendations professionally and with influence.

  • Provide input to the PCLender team/management offering ideas for product testing and QA process enhancements as a part of an ongoing effort to deliver a stellar product and services.

  • Review BRD’s and PRD’s to identify QA and Testing requirements and create appropriate testing plans and test cases/scripts.

  • Review, update and assist with the development and adherence of Product Testing and QA policies, procedures and practices.

  • Establish, operate and maintain effective testing environments and automated processes when applicable. This will include managing the inventory and processes of test cases and scripts.

  • Performs all other duties as requested or assigned.

_Required Skills and Qualifications:_

  • 4 Year Degree in Information Technology or related field

  • Minimum of 8 years of related QA experience.

  • Minimum 5 years mortgage lending/loan origination/lending technology experience.

  • Minimum of 3 years of PCLender product experience preferred.

  • Strong organization and time management skills with ability to manage multiple testing objectives simultaneously.

  • Experience implementing enterprise software testing methods and solutions.

  • Ability to perform tasks and complete projects with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and/or resolve, including escalation, of complex support issues.

  • Expert knowledge of Software Quality Assurance Methodologies and best practices.

  • Working knowledge of automation testing.

  • Strong analytical skills to solve and model complex business requirements.

  • Working understanding of software development best practices.

  • Ability to collaborate on a team with infrastructure and business analyst resources.

  • Ability to display professionalism and effectively work with senior management.

  • Excellent combination of analytical and technical skills.

  • Ability to work on several tasks at the same time, often under time pressure, and complete assignments effectively amidst frequent distractions and interruptions.

  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to multitask and effectively manage time.

  • Desire to take personal responsibility to complete tasks and solve problems.

  • Desire to have a deep understanding of the mortgage process/industry.
