Position Purpose

Provides individual placement service, job coaching, and follow up services for Deaf and Hard of Hearing consumers. Develops time study procedures to include job descriptions, task analysis and productivity standards in accordance with DOL regulations. Maintains case files, progress notes, VR reports and necessary support documentation for all clients. Position may from time to time be stressful and require a high demand of performance. May perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions
  • Assists in the development of the Individual Program Plan (IPP) for each client; ensures IPPs are followed and reviewed monthly with Job Coaches and supervisor
  • Assists with development of Situational Assessments and Vocational Evaluations to determine consumer needs and goals
  • Participates on client service teams to review progress on current goals and to establish new goals, as needed
  • Reviews VR and DD referrals ensuring consumer program meets identified and authorized service standards according to VR and DD contracts; tracks referral funding Assists with development of monthly progress reports for VR and DD consumers using the COPD format
  • Conducts time study procedures including developing job descriptions, task analysis and productivity standards according to Department of Labor regulations
  • Ensures that all time studies are conducted and completed according to Department of Labor regulations and that time study standards are reviewed yearly at each site
  • Coordinates with placement staff by providing job leads and information for consumers ready to move to a community placement
  • Assists with job coaching needs for placement department
  • Assists with required documentation and tracking processes
  • Submits all contract paperwork within the required guidelines
  • Maintains unit records of consumer contact to include unit counts, attendance sheets, SOAP notes and daily checklists
  • Assists with weekly schedule development and coordinating site coverage
  • Acts as a “Floater” for vocational department providing site coverage, as needed
  • Implements, reviews, and maintains CARF procedures adhering to COPD and CCS policies and procedures
  • May drive agency or personal vehicle on company business

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s in Social Services or related field (6 years of directly related experience may substitute for Bachelor’s)
  • Fluency in American Sign Language
  • 2 years of experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals in a vocational or educational setting
  • Ability to work nights and/or weekends, if required
  • Knowledge of the job market
  • Proven ability to lift 25 lbs. 10% of the time
  • Pass drug screening
  • Clear an FBI Fingerprint Criminal History Summary
  • Valid New Mexico Driver License, proof of insurance and New Mexico Motor Vehicle Division Motor Vehicle Report
Desired Qualifications
  • Master’s in Social Services or related field
  • Knowledge of DOL time study procedures
  • Additional years of directly related experience
  • 1 year of experience working in Rehabilitation
  • 1 year of experience working in Vocational Education
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid
